Parking Spaces
Parking for subjects participating in a research study in the GCRC is available in the Red H faculty/staff lot located off of Burrowes Road on the Penn State Campus (
download directions). Designated parking spaces for research subjects are signed as follows:
Reserved Parking H&HD Permit Required
Subjects must park in the signed spaces only, and must display the valid permit (see below). Subjects must use their 4-way flashers in the signed spaces while they come into the GCRC and get a parking permit to put in their vehicle.
NOTE: The parking lot is patrolled 24 hrs/day 7 days/wk. Subjects using the designated spaces after 5pm or on weekends must have a parking permit displayed.
The permits are only valid in the signed spaces.
Acceptable Permits
The only valid parking permit to be used in the signed spaces in the Red H faculty/staff parking lot are the 4x5” yellow Conference Permits. These permits should be available from the coordinator of the study you are participating in, or at the GCRC reception desk, and at the Nurse’s Station.
Permits must be DATED in black felt tip marker, indicate the TIME ALLOTTED for the research visit, and HANGING on the inside rear view mirror of your car. Vehicles with permits on dashboards or otherwise obstructed from view may be ticketed.
Vehicles displaying the permit but parking in spaces that are not signed for H&HD Parking also run the risk of receiving a parking ticket.
